According to "Sheildbugs of Surrey" E. maura is rare and found in sandy areas with storkbills, E. testudinaria is common and spreading, habitat grassland and marshy places.

Seperation of the two is difficult, when viewed from behind the central lobe of the head E. test. is slightly sunken between the side lobes sat the front of the head. It is absolutely level in E. maura.

BTW Your photo of Rivula sericealis matches something I was trying to ID last week.

Thanks, next time I'll know what to look at. The habitat is a wasteland really (a former sewage works site now kept as a nature park). That very place was sandy with storkbills, but there are marshy areas as well...
